@kristoafer You can buy antique cars and the value can increase. New cars lose their value right as you drive them off a lot. Besides why buy a fancy watch. When you could buy a car that has a fancy clock? Ummm no, a nice 500 dollar swiss gear dive watch could actually be resold on ebay for probally a little more than half of what you bought it for

@themichaelnuckles because a 20k car is not worth more than 5k in 10 years.
a watch (if you buy preowned), appreciates or maintains value over time. its an investment that doesnt depreciate like a car. also a $500 cannot be resold. nobody wants it.

the easiest way to tell if a rolex is real or fake and I know because I use to be a criminal and roll rich guys that are drunk and leaving a bar or tavern this to look at the second hand the second hand on a fake rolex will tick and on a real rolex the second hand will sweep

Any Rolex that costs 20K or more is going to be partially gold (always 18K) and probably have diamonds, or it will be solid gold but with a leather strap. So that fact alone makes it valuable.
Also, the value in a Rolex is not just in the materials but in the craftsmanship. It takes over a year to make a single Rolex by hand, and if taken care of it will last for decades. Lastly, they hold their value extremely well. So it has a return.

@themichaelnuckles Rolex are waterproof which is why the oyster perpetual range are milled from one block of solid stainless steel/gold/platinum. Yes many watches can last 41 years however my rolex which was bought for £1200 is now worth just shy of £7k….

@staffordacdc Ok, any watch can last 41 years if you take care of it. Also I wouldnt say Rolex has the best quality considering (once again) if i was to go scuba diving ill need a watch that can go to max of 120 feet. Not sure if Rolexs are waterproof and I dont want to find out. I could do more with a nice Swiss Gear watch, and I could have enough money left to buy a small car. Bottom line Swiss Gear = cheaper and more useful w/ great quality and i wouldnt be as mad if it fell into the ocean…

@themichaelnuckles because a rolex comes with the BEST quality, the BEST parts and is made by the BEST watch makers. My oyster perpetual datejust took 1 year to make and is now 41 years old (it was my dads). Its the reason people buy things of superlative quality.

You cannot remove the back of the oyster case, Only a rolex service center have the case removal tool. So if they remove the back of an oyster its a fake.
